    Final agreement on improving conditions for platform workers

    A majority of EU countries in the Employment and Social Affairs Council just supported the deal on improving conditions for platform workers. This agreement is a very important step in building a strong social Europe. It manages to improve the working conditions of the most precarious workers

    Greens/EFA call for adoption of the platform workers directive

    MEPs will debate the need to overcome the Council deadlock on the platform workers directive. It is estimated that at least 4 million people working through digital labour platforms are misclassified as self-employed instead of employees, allowing platforms to evade labour, tax and social security legislation that apply to employees.

    Conservatives and socialists want to make our economies more “stable” by cutting down on the very pillars that hold our societies together. They are wrong. The age of austerity and restrictive economic policies belong to the past. There will be no sustainable debt in an unsustainable world.
