Gregorova worked on a huge EU loan to Ukraine that will be backed by Russian assets

The European Union will release up to 35 billion euros to help Ukraine. The financial injection will be backed by frozen Russian assets. Members of the European Parliament agreed on this today. Pirate MEP Markéta Gregorová, who worked on the proposal as shadow rapporteur, said it was a matching loan from the G7 countries.

Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented the proposal for the new European Commission. Greens/EFA welcome the clear commitment from the Commission President to the Green Deal for the new Commission but are concerned about the Member States failing to live up to their promises and reach gender equality.

New anti-money laundering rules victory in the fight against criminals & corruption

Members of the European Parliament will vote on the agreements on a series of laws that will ramp up the EU’s fight against money laundering. The Anti-Money Laundering package will see the creation of a new EU AML Authority (AMLA), and update and widen the scope of existing rules to close down loopholes for money laundering in Europe.
