Inclusion of Russia to blacklist shows EU can take strong steps towards tax justice but be more proactive

EU Ministers of Finance and Economy have agreed to update the list of non-cooperative third country jurisdictions for tax purposes, commonly known as the ‘EU tax haven blacklist’. They agreed to add Russia and the British Virgin Islands to the blacklist but have decided to leave Qatar on the greylist of non-cooperative jurisdictions.

Parliament votes for all new cars to be electric by 2035

Members of the European Parliament have adopted the compromise reached with EU Member States and the European Commission on CO2 emissions for cars and vans. From 2035, no more new cars and vans with combustion engines will be registered in the EU. The Greens/EFA Group voted in favour of the outcome of the negotiations.

Greens/EFA Group call for special fund & boost for European green competitiveness

The European Commission has presented its Green Deal Industrial Plan in response to the US Inflation Reduction Act. The Greens/EFA Group welcome the initiative for a European industrial plan and call for massive investments in the expansion of renewable energies and EU investment fund to ensure the unity of the EU internal market.

EU reaches agreement on closing the gender pay gap

The European Parliament, the Council and the Commission have reached an agreement on a new EU directive on Pay transparency. The directive aims to ensure equal pay in the EU by highlighting the pay gap and giving employees more rights when it comes to pay. Greens/EFA strongly welcome the outcome of the trilogue negotiations.
