Food cannot be fuel for Europe’s aeroplanes

The European Parliament will vote on an expanded definition of Sustainable Aviation Fuels or “SAFs”, which includes unsustainable feedstocks such as palm oil distillate and some food crops. The expanded definition is opposed by major European airlines, several Member States, and the Greens/EFA Group.

Urgent need to move past unanimity to achieve tax justice

The European Parliament will vote on a resolution on the minimum tax rate on the profits of multinationals, following the Hungarian government’s veto on 17 June. A debate is also scheduled on the taxation of windfall profits made by corporations, especially in the energy and food sector, following Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

Members of the European Parliament voted on the objection to the European Commission's delegated act on the Taxonomy Regulation. Digital Services Act: New global standard for the internet

Worldwide around 25 million people are estimated to be in forced labour, being made to work against their will under threat of punishment. The products they make can end up in the European market, making European citizens unwillingly consumers of and contributors to this exploitation. This has to stop!
