    Aura Lolita Chávez for Sakharov Prize 2017

    The European Parliament’s foreign affairs and development committees agreed on the shortlist for the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought for 2017. Aura Lolita Chávez Ixcaquic, a Guatemalan environmental and human rights defender from the Maya Quiché people, was nominated by the Greens/EFA group.

    Automatic filters are not the solution

    “The European Commission's idea that complex questions of internet policy can be solved with automated filtering tools is misguided and dangerous," says Julia Reda, Greens/EFA spokesperson for digital policy.
