Commission announcement of due diligence legislation
Yesterday, Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders announced, in a webinar hosted by Greens/EFA MEP Heidi Hautala, that the Commission will introduce a legislative initiative next year on mandatory due diligence for companies.
The European Commission's decision is the right response to the undue interference of the Polish government in the independence of the judiciary. This concrete step was long overdue after months of finger pointing at the Polish government.
