    European Court of Justice: Refusal to accept refugees violates EU law

    The European Court of Justice has ruled, Thursday 2 April, that Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic should not have refused to admit refugees and asylum seekers. The suit was filed against the three countries by the European Commission.

    Evacuate vulnerable asylum seekers from Greek islands

    Members of the European Parliament are calling on the crisis team of the European Commission to make an emergency plan to protect vulnerable asylum seekers against Covid-19. On the Greek islands are now more than 42.000 asylum seekers, while camps were supposed to house 6.000 people

    MEPs will debate, Tuesday 10 March, the situation on the Turkish-Greek border and the demands on the European Union. On Thursday (12 March) Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit the camps on the Greek islands.

    Humanitarian situation of refugees at EU external borders

    Greens/EFA MEPs Saskia Bricmont, Erik Marquardt and Tineke Strik have returned from a fact-finding mission to Croatia's border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and to refugee camps where they confirmed reports of violent returns of asylum seekers and migrants from Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
