    Greens/EFA Group welcomes focus on climate but needs to see action

    Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented the proposal for the new European Commission. Greens/EFA welcome the clear commitment from the Commission President to the Green Deal for the new Commission but are concerned about the Member States failing to live up to their promises and reach gender equality.

    Greens/EFA Group welcomes that Draghi report recognises urgent need for EU action on decarbonisation, competitiveness & jobs

    Mario Draghi, the former head of the European Central Bank, has just come out with his Commission-mandated report on the future of competitiveness in the EU, which suggests a swath of potential reforms of the EU’s economic and industrial policies, defence capabilities, as well as changes to the EU’s governance structures.

    MEPs approve the negotiation position on the Critical Raw Materials Act

    Today, Members of the European Parliament approved the Parliament's negotiations mandate for the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA). The Greens/EFA Group pushed for a 45 percent recycling target and for mitigating the demand for critical raw materials.

    Final Council agreement on the combustion engine phase out

    Greens/EFA call for development of key strategic industries as a competitive advantage for the EU

    The Greens/EFA Group welcomes the Net Zero Industry Act, which will reinforce the industrial plan of the Green Deal and create jobs in the climate-neutral industry.
