EFA MEPS on the official status of Catalan, Euskera and Galician

Today EFA MEP Ana Miranda held a press conference to discuss the officiality of Catalan, Euskera and Galicia in the European Union. The press conference had guests from different linguistic and cultural organisations who spoke in favour of the official status.

MEPs miss opportunity to safeguard against corruption following Qatargate

Members of the European Parliament adopted the special report from the Committee on Foreign Interference (ING2) following the Qatargate scandal. While the Greens/EFA welcome the fact that the Parliament is taking steps towards being more transparent, the decision taken falls far short of what is needed.

MEPs to vote on need for effective & powerful body to tackle ethics issues

MEPs will vote on a resolution on the Commission’s proposal for an EU Ethics Body. The Greens/EFA Group are calling for a stronger ethics body with investigative powers and for existing ethics rules to be properly enforced.

Commission proposals welcome but not enough to steer EU through crises

Today, the European Commission has just presented two proposals, one on the revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework, the EU’s seven year budget, and the other amending the so-called Own Resources enhancing the EU’s ability to raise funds directly, rather than via Member States budgetary contributions.
