    EPP creates chaos: Greens/EFA call on von der Leyen to withdraw weakened Deforestation Regulation

    Amid a dramatic breakdown of the electronic voting system which brings the vote into question, Members of the European Parliament voted on the Commission proposal to delay the Deforestation regulation. It’s deeply concerning that the EPP amendments were adopted as they eviscerate the EU’s deforestation regulation.

    Parliament calls for clear commitments on climate finance & the release of political prisoners

    Members of the European Parliament are calling on the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku to make clear commitments on climate finance, binding measures on promises made at the COP28 in Dubai and to release all political prisoners in Azerbaijan. The resolution is the European Parliament's mandate for the COP.

    Commission postpones groundbreaking deforestation legislation

    The Commission announced a postponement of the implementation of the EU regulation to combat deforestation by 12 months. “The postponement is taking place in the context of the greatest destruction of forests on the Latin American continent in recent years.     Greens/EFA welcomes ECJ ruling on access to COVID vaccine contracts

    The European Court of Justice (ECJ) issued its ruling on the lawsuit filed by five Greens/EFA MEPs requesting access to documents related to the joint purchases of Covid vaccines. The Greens/EFA Group welcome that today’s ruling clarified that the Commission unduly refused access to certain elements in the contracts.
