    Greens/EFA group welcomes four Italian MEPs

    On 9 December, four Italian MEPs, Rosa D'Amato, Ignazio Corrao, Eleonora Evi, and Piernicola Pedicini, joined the Greens/EFA group by unanimous acclamation. The Greens/EFA group now has 73 Members.

    New study shows breaches of rule of law during first Covid wave

    Greens/EFA group MEPs working on rights and democracy, have released a first of kind legal study into the emergency measures taken by EU member states during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, assessing the impact on the democracy and the rule of law, free movement of people, asylum and refugee protections and data protection.

    Human Rights: EU sanctions regime agreed

    The new sanctions mechanism is a big success, the European Parliament, and our group in particular, have repeatedly called for the adoption of such a regime. Our efforts now have finally paid off. With the mechanism, the EU will have a toolbox at its disposal allowing targeted, smart sanctions, such as asset freezes or travel bans.
