FIGHTING FOR

THE END OF GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

WE WANT TO FEEL SAFE

We all want to feel safe. To wear whatever we want without getting attacked. To walk fearlessly in the streets alone at night. We want a world free of violence, especially of violence that’s triggered just because of your gender identity or expression, or because of who you are.

GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE- A SHADOW PANDEMIC?

Gender-based violence is a human rights violation that affects 1 out of 3 Europeans.

Plus, the COVID lockdown measures have made the pre-existing problems even worse.

Cases of gender-based physical, psychological and sexual violence have increased across Europe, in what the United Nations has called a “shadow pandemic”.

HOW CAN WE END GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE?

The European Commission has the power to draft a law that would oblige European governments to put an end to this form of violence.

We need to convince the European Commission to propose a comprehensive directive to prevent, respond to and end gender-based violence online and offline, across the whole EU.

OUR DEMANDS

We want to put an end to this systematic form of violence by:

  • Adopting a comprehensive, inclusive EU directive against gender-based violence
  • Supporting civil society activists throughout Europe in their pursuit for a feminist future
