Our world is warming up fast. We know that the coming ten years will be crucial to combat climate change and transform into a green economy. We support the European Commission in setting the Green Deal as one of their priorities, with higher climate targets for 2030.
However last week, the European Parliament and the EU Ministers acted as if climate change doesn’t exist. They refused to acknowledge that there is also a role to play for our Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Seven years and nearly 400 billion euros (about a third of the EU’s budget) that have to be used for greening the agricultural sector are about to be wasted.
Bas Eickhout, and 40 other Members of the European Parliament are sending a letter to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and are asking her to take action now. She has the right to withdraw a proposal if she sees it no longer aligns with the priorities of the European Commission. We are counting on her to save our European Green Deal.
Make yourself heard. Join us and write your own letter to Ursula von der Leyen and ask her to save our EU Green Deal below.
