PIRATES IN THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

Since 2009, Pirate Party MEPs have been part of the European Parliament with the Greens/EFA group. In the current term, Markéta Gregorová, representing the Czech Pirate Party, focuses on tackling disinformation, cyber threats, human rights and surveillance technologies.

Pirates advocate for civil rights, direct democracy, transparency, and protecting digital rights online. Their principles include promoting innovation, open-source software, knowledge sharing, privacy, free speech, and opposing mass surveillance, censorship, and Big Tech monopolies.

Gregorova worked on a huge EU loan to Ukraine that will be backed by Russian assets

The European Union will release up to 35 billion euros to help Ukraine. The financial injection will be backed by frozen Russian assets. Members of the European Parliament agreed on this today. Pirate MEP Markéta Gregorová, who worked on the proposal as shadow rapporteur, said it was a matching loan from the G7 countries.

Vote to stop a future of biometric mass surveillance in Europe!

41 MEPs from different political groups call the French Parliament to stop an unprecedented planned automated mass surveillance of citizens’ behaviour in public using artificial intelligence. This call comes ahead of the vote on planned legislation for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
