Whole week: Tune into tuna
From 6-15 November, Greens/EFA Vice-President Raül Romeva will be blogging from the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) in Recife, Brazil, where Greens hope to see agreement on listing bluefin tuna for 'CITES' protection, which would secure a ban on the international trade of this fish. Romeva, who is EP rapporteur on bluefin tuna and fisheries control, will post blog updates in Catalan, Spanish, English and French at:

Wednesday: European Parliament mini plenary session
EU-Russia summit. This year's Parliament's Sakharov Prize will be awarded to Russian human rights activists. Given the dangerous conditions in which they work, the Greens want human rights to be at the top of the agenda of the Stockholm summit on 18-19 November.
EU top jobs. Ahead of the summit of EU leaders on Thursday, the European Parliament will discuss the appointment of key EU posts including the Council President, foreign affairs high representative and European Commissioners. The Greens are calling for more women in the EU's top decision-making posts.
Thursday: EP joint committee vote on Stockholm programme
The European Parliament JURI, LIBE and AFCO committees meet from 14.00-16.00 to vote on numerous amendments and a draft resolution relating to the EU Commission Communication on the Stockholm programme, which covers a wide range of policy areas under the justice and home affairs portfolio, including immigration and asylum matters.

Seminar: Political activism on the Net
