Livestream press conference on carbon leakage
New independent study to reveal risks and reality of carbon leakage and policy options
On Thursday 20 May at 10.30 (CET) the Greens/EFA group will
launch a new independent study on the risks and reality of carbon leakage in the EU at a press conference. The study has been prepared by Climate Strategies, an international research consultancy.
The study - which will outline the potential risks of carbon leakage in the EU, as well as discussing policy options for addressing the problem - should be seen in the context of the forthcoming Communication from the European Commission on increasing the EU emissions reduction target and the impact of carbon leakage, due to be published on 26 May.
The press conference will take place in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, with Susanne Droege (Climate Strategies) and Green MEPs Yannick Jadot and Claude Turmes.
It will also be livestreamed and journalists will have the opportunity to pose questions either by email or by telephone. The livestream will be available at
