Climate change in Latin America and the Carribbean
As the USA marks the first anniversary of hurricane Katrina, this study reveals the untold story of the impacts that extreme weather, exarcebated by climate change, is having on the whole of Latin America and the Carribean.
The report presents evidence which shows that the livelihoods of millions of people in the region are at risk, including:
- Increased storm intensity,
- Water shortages,
- Illegal logging and deforestation.
It is the third report from the Working Group on Climate Change and Development which includes several NGOs like Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, BirdLife or the WWF.
