Greens/EFA group welcomes four Italian MEPs
Today (9 December), four Italian MEPs, Rosa D'Amato, Ignazio Corrao, Eleonora Evi, and Piernicola Pedicini, joined the Greens/EFA group by unanimous acclamation. The Greens/EFA group now has 73 Members.
Greens/EFA MEPs, Rosa D'Amato, Ignazio Corrao, Eleonora Evi, and Piernicola Pedicini, comment:
"We are happy to come to the Greens/EFA group as our new home in the European Parliament. We have long voted and worked together on many issues with the Greens/EFA group and now we will continues as colleagues in the same group. We are also happy to bring the Mediterranean experience and the Italian perspective to the group. On the environment, climate, biodiversity, social rights, animal welfare and agricultural policy we have been working together for years and now we are pleased to fight these battles together.
"We want to build a Europe that is more open and more transparent. European citizens should take part in the political process. We are convinced that we can make a difference in the Greens/EFA group, we share the positions but we also share the values of gender equality, dialogue and team work."
